TRANSAERO AIRLINES
Russias number two, Transaero Airlines was once a strong competitor to the omnipotent Aeroflot. The airline’s fleet consisted almost entirely of western-built aircraft including Boeing 737-200/700, 757, 767-300ER and three leased DC-10-30s for intercontinental routes to the USA. In the last time, the crisis in Russia also affected Transaero so that a large part of the fleet, including all 757s and DC-10s were returned to the lessors. The DC-10s went back to American Airlines so that the only DC-10 in Russia are now Aeroflot’s freighter.
